JUST ASKING: SHOULD SHE HAVE HIRED ANOTHER STYLIST?

new york - alas, here is the jennifer love hewitt posing as audrey hepburn's legendary character, holly go lightly. as michael from dlisted.com has already noted, this photo just doesn't add up. the fabrics seem cheap, the jewelry is totally costume - and bad costume at that -....and the hair? will my beauty editors please comment. compare and contrast jen's picture with the original, audrey's....thoughts?

I KNOW I'VE BEEN AWAY - MY LETTER FROM LONDON

london - my dear readers, this is a heart felt note to apologize for the lack of updates. i totally, totally hear you on your frustrations for lack of updating but it hasn't been for naught. the past month has seen my schedule go into crunch mode as i balance my duties as market editor at paper with my work as a graduating masters student at central saint martins with life in general. it's not meant to be an excuse , just an explanation. i totally love you guys and appreciate your devoted readership. it may not feel like it, but this blog is getting ready to head into its best days yet and once i'm wrapped with my degree there's be bigger, better, bolder blogs to come. speaking of which, i'm in london right now doing just that: preparing to graduate - FINALLY -from saint martins. stay tuned for pics, etc from my final days as a student at csm and in london in general. i love you guys and miss you guys and beg you guys to continue to be patient with me.

IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING WHERE M.I.A GOT THAT OUTFIT

los angeles - as i watched the grammy's last night, all i could think was....is this an american awards show or a british one? london based musical acts like cold play, adele, duffy, and leona lewis dominated  the evening. from nominations to awards to presenting. but they weren't holding court in the music category only, the brits came with it in fashion as well. case in point: m.i.a's absolutely delightful sheer sheath dress. it's by it brit designer, henry holland who debuted it during his spring runway show last season.

PLEASE GET INTO THIS: THE BURKMAN BROTHERS

new york, ny - heard of the burkman brothers? doug and benjamin are canadian born hoties/identical looking brothers who worked at the gap for several years before launching their own line of button down oxford shirts. i know just what you are thinking: did we really need another line of those? heck yeah! apparently abercrombie and fitch doesn't have the lock on this market (clearly a joke. i never thought they did!) the fabrics (light weight cotton madras) and intricate touches (fictional names lovingly emboridered on the inside of shirts) makes these tops stand out. the prices are definitely not run of the mill (roughly $160 a pop) but so worth it. if you are in the new york area, pop in to barney to take a peak at it. if not, log on to www.burkmanbros.com to check it out.

DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? NEW YORK FASHION WEEK TO MOVE TO LINCOLN CENTER

new york - 2010 might feel like eons away, but council of fashion designers of america and img fashion are already making plans for it. according to media reports, they've struck a deal to move fashion week from it's 17 year old bryant park location to lincoln center.

urf!?

the deal is set to take effect starting september of 2010 and the announcement is set to take place today.

the reason is that fashion week is outgrowing "the tents" at bryant park and needs a larger venue. and that venue is lincoln center? i know nothing about logistics, and i'm sure their right. but moving it further uptown - to lincoln center of all places - doesnt seem like a smart move. the neighborhood - and the center itself - isn't exactly congestion free and super spacious.....

OOOH...LOOK WHO IS ROCKING MCM BAGS? IVANKA TRUMP

new york - so i've talked before about mcm's relaunch...and savvy stylenistas that you are, i'm sure you know all the highlights: the new flagship at the swanky plaza hotel, the star studded celebrity launch, the stunning cognac duffles.  i can't get enough of it, and from the looks of it, neither can ivanka trump. the sophisticated socialite was spotted shopping - or posing - (take your pic) at mcm's flagship boutique. get into the amazing bags she's holding. and once you are done with that, please (pretty please) get into the chanel boucle skirt suit. cla$$ all around.

News Release: NEW YORK, Jan. 26, 2009

DrJays.com, the leading online retailer of street fashion, announces its national model search: Fresh Faces of Spring 2009.

From Monday, January 26 to Monday, February 23, aspiring models from across America are encouraged to upload a 30-second audition video to DrJays.com. Entries will be rated and commented on by the site's enthusiastic community. Two winners – one male, one female – will be chosen for their broad appeal, spirit and passion to be the face of DrJays.com's Spring 2009 campaign.

"Fresh Faces of Spring was created in response to the overwhelming feedback we receive from our customers who contact us daily looking for the chance to appear on the site," says Simone "Boss Lady" Kapsalides, DrJays.com's Content Manager.

"Instead of booking professional models for our Spring 2009 campaign, we're giving two winners the chance to fly to our creative studio in San Diego, be put up in a plush downtown hotel for two nights and star in a photo shoot featuring the hottest brands in urban wear."
