milan - the abrupt departure of designer lars nilsson still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but i'm happy to report that there are positive vibes coming out of the house of ferre. the company has announced the launch of a foundation in honor of gianfranco ferre, the founder of the house who died last june. it was literally set up yesterday according to rita airaghi, the director-general of gianfranco ferre. according to airaghi, the foundation's first mission is to publish a book and website which will mark ferre's 40th year of showing his collections. this news is fresh as a loaf of bread so stay tuned for more deets....
