DOUBLE DOSE OF DESIGNER NEWS

Jason Wu partners up with Tse and Alexander Wang is a winner again.

World Wide Web - It’s been a good week for Jason Wu and Alexander Wang. The former is partnering up with cashmere label Tse to create a limited edition collection for autumn/winter 2009-2010, while the latter was given a $150,000 prize for winning the 2009 Swiss Textiles Award. About his collaboration with Tse Wu said, "In many ways, I am probably the least expected designer to do this, because Tse's aesthetic is so different from my own, but that's one reason I wanted to do it." The collection consists of 15 looks, which will be presented at New York Fashion Week next February and then will be available at Tse boutiques, tsecashmere.com and select stores next July. This, however, isn’t the first time the designer and Tse have joined together; the label has produced Wu’s knitwear for the last two seasons. Christina Peng-Gerschultz, Tse's chief executive officer, said, "Jason's complete understanding of this timeless luxury and craftsmanship, which is in the Tse DNA, rendered him the perfect partner."

As for Wang the awards just keep on coming. Last November he was awarded the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund of $200,000 and this past June he was the 2009 CFDA Swarovski Womenswear winner. And now the talented designer can add 2009 Swiss Textiles Award under his name. He is the second American designer to take home the award; last year fellow American designer Rodarte won the award. Congratulations to Wang for his big win and Wu for his new project. [Stories: UKVogue/ Fashionologie;Image: Lexposure]
