A picture of the first "Epicenter"scheduled to open at Christiana Mall in Newark, Delaware in Fall 2008....well maybe not ebay specifically, but pick any garden variety online retailer/discounter, and you may just see them hawking goods at your local mall really soon. This is according to an article in today's womens wear daily. Federated Department Stores, the company which owns a ton of retailers, including Lord and Taylors (yawn), is now developing a new concept: The Epicenter. In this huge space, e-tailers can now showcase their hottest items and have customers purchase them directly on a kiosk. It's a pretty fascinating idea. But given the choice between shopping from your bed online (isn't that the whole selling point of online shopping?) and going to the mall to shop online, which would you do?
