after that ground breaking and very profitable buy-in from liz claiborne brands, narciso rodgriguez is now moving forward in another avenue: fragrance. he will be launching his first men's fragrance this year. the fragrance will be debuted world wide this summer. i actually like wearing men's fragrances so this makes me just as happy as the next man. details on what this scent smells and looks like shortly.

banana adds to it's republic
that title didn't come out as witty as i would've liked. but it gets the point across: banana repubic is debuting two new fragrances. the first is malachite (love the name) for women and the next is cordovan (i've no idea what to think when i read this word. is that a person, place, or thing?) which is for men. both scents will debut in september. just in time for back to school or a fab end-of-summer getaway.

missoni gets wet
...sort of. my favorite brand (after stella mccartney and chloe) is launching a brand new fragrance. and although i haven't smelled it, the name sounds absolutely juicy. it's called Acqua and it's inspired by the mediterranean sea. it will debut this summer at nordstroms, where it will be sold exclusively for six months.

prince will make it reign on you
cotdamn prince! what took so long? our favorite super sexy, androgynous musician is debuting his fragrance! no it's not called purple rain, but something equally cute (i think) 3121. this is named after prince's march 2006 album of the same name. according to wwd, it will debut july 7th and will be sold in macys. you will be able to cop it online at midnight on july 7th on www.3121perfume.com. seven percent of the sales will be split among seven charities.
