(source: worldretailawards.com)barcelona, spain--have you heard of the world retail awards? me neither! and the headbanger is that it's actually going on it's second year in a row. the event debuted in march of this year to positive industry reviews and is now looking for a fresh round of nominees for it's 2008 awards show. according to wgsn.com, "awards in seven categories are up for graps," including innovative format of the year, emerging market retailer of the year, retail destination of the year and employer of the year. interested retailers have until november 9th to enter. selected nominees will be announced at a gala in barcelona in april of next year.
