paris - here's what surprises me about this bit of news; 1) that such a high profile french woman would pick an italian designer for her wedding dress and 2) that versace would be that italian designer. but i digress from today's news: cecilia ciganer-albeniz is the controversial ex-wife of nicolas sarkozy, president of france. here's some background on albeniz: she left sarkozy years ago while he was running for another office in france, but got back with him for publicity's sake when he ran for president. shortly after winning she decided to drop the charade and left him again. (he moved on to model carla bruni who he married earlier this year.) now it's her turn to walk down the alter. she will be marrying richard attias later this year. and both bride and groome will be dressed in versace. good publicity move for all involved.
