new york - this collection debuted in new york to a select group of editors (alas, this one was not on the invited list) but i digress.....behold her resort 2010 collection. as women's wear daily notes, and i agree: it is a very different look for the designer. it is much more restrained, structured and - at points - masculine. i want to say i love it, because i generally love anything philo does, but i hesitate...my one critique is that it is almost severe in how parred down it was and felt more like a "pre-fall" than a resort collection. perhaps in trying to push forth a radically new aesthetic, she is rushing past exactly who the celine woman is , or could be. it's a modest thought. what are yours? zandile blay
