designer: luella bartley
event: spring 2008 showing at london fashion week
location: claridges ballroom, london, england
synopsis: couldn't care less about the clothes - but loved the accessories + the make up.

hanna of julianne watson agency created the amazing make up you saw. "they needed to look like cool prep girls," she said. to get the look she exfoliated and moisturized each girls' skin and used lip balm instead of lipstick on all but two of the girls. all products were by shu umera.

these shoes are EVERYTHING! i would save up for them.
a frily, fun pink dress is accented by an equally fun and quirky neon bang. the look was created by master stylist and redken consultant, guido.

these shoes are even more killer. the models definitely ripped the runway in them!

as i said earlier, the clothing really didn't move me, with the exception of these delicious, delicate pleated ruffles.

models voguing backstage for the paparazzi. (did you know that they can be backstage too!? notice hot model of the moment agnes on the far right. loves it!

blaynista's! so alpha kitty that i am - it's only right that i spent my first full day in london backstage at the most anticipated show during london fashion week: luella bartley. remember two things about ms. bartley: 1) she graduated from the school i'm about to attend, central saint martins and 2) this is her FIRST LONDON SHOW IN SIX YEARS! as you can imagine london - and new york - fashionistas turned out in droves to witness her come back. even the anna wintour was sitting front row (and she got there early too) to witness the goodness that is luella bartley. the clothes truly said "hello london." you saw lots of block heeled patent boots, black and white checks, geometric shaped bags, high waists and itsy-bitsy shorts. in my humble opinion there was nothing fresh or new here - but the accessories were interesting. check for professional photos of the show. but look below for my paparazzi style backstage shots. and whenever you get a moment go to one of my favorite blogs: glamblush to see more pics and commentary!
