TOP + TROUBLING TRENDS: THE YEAR IN REVIEW

fashionland - we are still partying like it's new years eve, 2007 on this blog. you may have already forgotten them, but we want to spend a few minutes reminding you of what made 2007 haute and not in beauty and fashion. meredith davis, one of my new crop of blay reporters, spent a few hours in the trenches of google, life & style magazine and our favorite blogs to come up with this list.and i did what i do best: pontificate on the trends. do you agree with us? or better yet, do you have your own trends to add?

WE LOVED:

1) BIG BAGS AND WE CANNOT LIE -

from our blackberry's, digi cams, leather bound notebooks, pack of pens and change of clothes (for a sleepover at your b.f's of course!) these bags kept us looking more like the classy chics we are and less like the bag ladies we could become.

2)GORGEOUS GLOVES-

so chic, so classy. long gloves, especially in rich red or bold black tones, brought out the lady in us.

3)BOLD BOBS -

4)MINI-MI FASHIONS -
yeah. we agree. it was odd and wierd and annoying at times. but just like an infant who won't stop throwing up and burping, all we could really say to this is, "awww. how cute"

this is now infamous. jolie and her lil tyke. something tells me these were freebies though. i can't really see her buying this. plus she wears clothes well, but i don't think she necessarily picks them well. no hate in our blood. trust. (bagbliss.com)

WE LOATHED

1)OVERDONE JEWELRY

honestly, we can't look at these jewels, these celebs, and these photos without hearing the line "you're just a jigaboo...trying to find something to do" from spike lee's school daze movie.
