the guinea born beauty, 47, started modeling around the age of 17 for legends like theirry mugler and yves saint laurent, who considered her his muse.

paris - blaynista's, don't know if you've heard about this story, but i've been keeping a close eye on it: katoucha niane, a legendary model who has catwalked for christian lacroix and yves saint laurent among others, was found dead in the river sienne last week.
in her lifetime, she juggled modeling with raising her three kids.

here's what womens wear daily had to say in an update on the situation in today's paper: "French police on Friday confirmed that a body pulled out of the Seine River was Katoucha Niane, the former Yves Saint Laurent muse. Niane, 47, disappeared after friends dropped her off at her houseboat after a night on the town. Investigators found her handbag. Police said an autopsy was conducted late Thursday and that Niane died by drowning and "there were no signs of violence."
police don't think there was any foul play in her death. it's been suggested that she simply fell into the river on her way inside her home: a house boat on the river.

One of the other writers over at Highbrid Nation wrote about Katoucha Niane and the disappearing of other models working on campaigns to stop genital mutilation. He actually think black magic may be involved. Yeh I know, that theory is a bit out there but I've heard stranger things.
