ASHLEE SIMPSON TO DO VOGUE?
The Melrose Place actress was snapped arriving for a Condé Nast photo shoot over the weekend.
Los Angeles - Yes, as in Vogue the fashion magazine, as in the one Anna Wintour works for, as in the magazine that has featured many A-list actresses like Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover. That is the one Ashlee Simpson may be doing in the future. Paparazzi caught the 25-year-old actress arriving at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel for a shoot over the weekend. It was said that the shoot was for the Condé Nast magazine. Okay, let's not panic. Condé Nast is the home of other magazines like Glamour, Lucky and Self. Maybe it's for one of those publications but her publicist or she is saying it's for Vogue to get publicity? In that case, well played Ashlee Simpson. But let's take a minute to believe that it is indeed for Vogue. We know Condé Nast is going through rough patches right now, but Ashlee Simpson is not the way to fix it. It only will contribute to the problem, Anna. Here's to hoping that if it is for Vogue it's only a short feature about her life as a "Hollywood actress" married to Pete Wentz, preferably located inside the last pages of the magazine, and not a cover for a future Vogue issue. But if it's the latter, oh dear God, help me get through this. [Story/Image via JustJared; Also via The Cut]
Now to redeem this post we have another celebrity-fashion news for you, but this one won't make you gag. If you haven't heard yet, Ridley Scott will be directing Gucci, "a drama about intrigue in high fashion." Now it has been reported that Angelina Jolie is close to joining the cast. The film will focus on the Gucci family in the 70s and 80s "when in was pulling in half a billion dollars annually." The director wants Angelina to play Patrizia Reggiano, "the woman sentenced to 29 years in prison for plotting the murder of her husband, Maurizio Gucci." Leonardo DiCaprio has been approached by the director to play Maurizio but he has yet to sign on for the movie. Angelina Jolie, Ridley Scott, Leonardo DiCaprio, fashion, drama and murder while set in the 70s and 80s? Please make this film happen. [Story/Image via NY Mag]
