DIANE VON FURSTENBERG GOES BACK IN TIME AGAIN...
For her Spring 2010 resort collection that follows up her Fall 2009 "nomad" collection .
New York - Diane von Furstenberg gives us an impressive follow up to her Fall 2009 "nomad" collection with her Spring 2010 resort show that was very Greco-Roman. The models wore flowy dresses, mini-dresses and wrap dresses in green, blue, black, white and yellow, completing the looks with bangles, handbags, and headpieces of colored leaves and flower wire wreaths. Animal prints were also included in the show such as a leopard print dress and a tiger print jumpsuit-like outfit. Von Furstenberg is one of the designers that really has consumers purchasing from, and so the question is: are there any pieces in her new line that could be worn outside the show? The answer is a huge "yes". Now I know what you are thinking that her pieces look way too loud to wear, which I can't fault you in thinking that. I mean the prints are bold and abundant in her Spring 2010 collection, but von Furstenberg has the skill and expertise to keep the pieces from looking too crazy as she finds an elegant balance between wearability and style experimentation. And instead of explaining to you how is that, I've decided to select several pieces from her show that I believe just speaks for themselves. Yes, I added a swimsuit because Derek Lam's summertime-inspired collection is still inside my head but I do think it's very much wearable as the rest of the pieces.
