Her Spring 2010 collection included dresses and her own take on "basketball tees" and biker shorts.

New York - It was a chic funeral-inspired Spring 2010 collection for Vera Wang. I kid, I kid. Yes, black was the main color to use in her show but tones of ivory, violet, silver and midnight blue were also included. Her pieces had a more tough, casual and romantic feel to them so nothing funeral-ish about that, right? The collection, however, was classic Vera Wang as her designs were  adorned with tulle, ruffles, sequins and beads, while oversized necklaces and ballerina wedges completed the looks. She also went sporty with several of her pieces, which was refreshing to see from the lady-like dresses, such as the "basketball tees" paired with biker shorts. The designer named Paul Poiret as her inspiration for her spring collection, which was held at her Mercer Street store. Poiret was a French fashion designer who called himself the "King of Fashion." He is best known for "freeing women from corsets and further liberating them through pantaloons" and pioneering "a radical approach to dressmaking that relied more on the skills of drapery than on those of tailoring." If Poiret was alive today I think he would have quite enjoy Wang's Spring 2010 collection.
