THE RUNDOWN: KELLY ROWLAND

blaynista's let's talk about it: kelly rowland looks FABULOUS!!!! i spied these photos on my blog of choice: ybf and simply had to post them. this itty-bitty-purple-bikini is beyond fierce. and the body is even fiercer. and the weave is even fiercerer (that's not a word, but it has to be for this situation.) kudos to kelly on such effortless fabulousness.

the front view is popping.

the side view is popping.

and the side view is popping. with ms.kelley it's all good. LOVES THIS!

HENRY HOLLAND AT HENRI BENDEL

these tees are cute. but the price tag of $108 is quiet ugly. (source)
the clock is ticking on henry holland's latest tees for henri bendel. the t-shirts, which were designed to celebrate the misshapes. the shirts will be on sale only through august 20th and are available for $108 a piece. hurry, there were only $50 produced!

FIRST LADY OF STYLE: NANCY REAGAN

this photo dates back to 1961 when nancy and ronald were vacaying. even back then her style and grooming were fly.

this pink and red getup is perfectly girly and perfectly perfect for the red room, where nancy posed for this pic in 1981.

this long, sparkly gown is a classic nancy reagan piece. here she is posing with her boo, ronald.

most of you reading this blog are eighties babies (as am i blaynista's) so you may not be familiar with the nancy reagan. but this former first lady was legendary for her snobbishness and her style. in her heyday she wore the best of the best from oscar de larenta to geoffrey beene - and each piece was perfectly cut, tailored and styled. she is finally getting her due with a retrospective of 75 of her pieces this november. diane von furstenberg will act as master of ceremonies of the event which will take place at simi valley in california. the reception is private, but the exhibit will be open to the public in mid-november.

TERRI HATCHER GIVES FIERCE!

i already blogged about this yesterday. but this picture, posted by susan cernek on glamchic, was totally worth an update. terri hatcher, of desperate housewives, is the new face - and apparently body - of badgley mischka, and the ads are stunning. it looks a bit overdone and baroque - but it's such a strong statement and something totally unexpected from hatcher. fierce.

CATWALK OR SIDEWALK: ICEBERG EDITION

so we see them all the time. totally fab and fantastic pieces that look hella good on the runway. and only on the runway. somehow, they pizazz they posess when music is bumping and cameras are flashing, does't translate into real life where people are just....staring. i spied three pieces that might just fall into the cute on the catwalk and fug on the sidewalk category on one of my favorite blogs, toastthetrends. i say they are all sidewalk worthy. what do you think?

okay, so why does this work on the catwalk and the sidewalk? because all bubble coats are fug! but at least this one gives you something extra with innovative armholes and military style straps instead of a blah zipper. i'd rock this. maybe not with black tights and a stilleto though.

hmmm....this one is tricky. something is telling me it won't look so haute with jeans and snowboots. but the little girl in me who loves to play dress up would still give it a try!

sexy! but honestly? this one is strictly for the catwalk.

FASHION FIX: FALL COATS + DISCO JEANS

today is a double homecoming. the fashion fix column PLUS top shop make a triumphant return to the blayreport. why gone so long? i simply wasn't seeing anything that moved me. but lo and behold i've seen some awesome things. check out this military coat and "high-shine" denim from topshop......
what: military jacket
why: it's a new and refreshing silhouette for the fall. this double-breasted, wool and polyester blend piece will go perfectly with skinny jeans (see below) and stilettos.
co$t: $120 u.s.d or 60 british pounds

what: silver disco jeans
why: do you really need a reason? they are slim cut, have zippers on the ankles, and are SILVER PLATED!!! that last part had me sold from the word go. i can't decide if they are trashtastic or fantastic, but either way i'm buying them!
co$t: $100 u.s.d or $50 british pounds

JUICY BITS: BLACK'S NEW MOVE, SPORTIF'S NEW PLANS, + BARNEY'S NEW OWNER

remember when hatcher played lois on lois and clark? well she has a new gig. (source)
thank god he's not my man! graeme black, a consulting creative designer for salvatore ferragamo has quit. again. he first quit in 2004, only to come back again six months later in 2005. now, after his last collection which will show in milan in september, he will leave the company to focus full time on his namesake line. (fashionweekdaily.com)

french sportswear brand, le coq sportif, is planning a u.s relaunch. (wwd.com)
the battle is done and istithmar won! the dubai based company is now owner of barney's new york. they beat out japan's fast retailing company, which owns uniqlo. they paid a cost of $942.3 million - CASH - to be the boss. (wwd.com)
terri hatcher, the once desperate actress and now star of desperate housewives, is the new face of badley mischka. look for her slender face and frame in their fall 2007 ad campaigns.
